Staying Motivated
E

I'm a student in the Computer Science department at the University of Lagos, I've recently developed a keen interest in product management. This is largely due to my passion for collaborating with others to solve problems effectively. Alongside my interest in product management, I'm also a skilled backend developer. In my free time, I enjoy indulging my love of music, whether through singing, listening to songs, or playing instruments. I'm a sociable person who enjoys listening to others and providing support where I can. I hope that by sharing my experiences in the tech world on this platform, I can help others on their own journeys.

Just as fuel is needed for a car to move, so is an inner drive needed for us to keep up with writing.

As writers we get discouraged when we don't get the expected feedbacks, when we have no one reading our articles or when we think we are not doing well.

Feeling discouraged is normal but we are not to bury ourselves in it. We have to rise up from it.

In the just concluded hashnode boot camp, Ruth Ikegah spoke on 'Writer's Block' and I believe most writers and bloggers find themselves in this position. She said lack of motivation is one of the causes of writer's block.

I will be sharing with you my thoughts on how we can stay motivated, though I'm new to writing. Whenever you are contemplating doing away with writing, bear in mind the following:

  • Remember why you started Whenever you feel down or discouraged remember why you started writing in the first place. Remember the goals you planned to achieve with writing and the problems you intended to solve indirectly.
  • Remember there are people who might or will be in need of your article. I understand feedback is a form of measuring how far our article has gone but this is not entirely true, as some though they find your article beneficial, would not give feedback. What you should bear in mind is that with or without your knowledge your article is reaching out to someone. It could be now or later in the future.
  • You're increasing your knowledge Whenever we write, we do this because we have learnt something new, or we've come across a new tool that we want to share and after sharing we go back to learn and study more, so that we could come again to share our knowledge. Doing this increases our knowledge.
  • You're not alone. Know that so many people have at one point or the other felt discouraged and they came out of it. If they could, you can.

Well that's it for now📍
